Irfan Pathan recently shared his observations about MS Dhoni’s current state, expressing optimism about the veteran cricketer’s continued participation in the IPL. In contrast to speculation, Pathan believes that the upcoming IPL 2024 might not mark the end of Dhoni’s illustrious IPL career. Scheduled to lead the Chennai Super Kings in the forthcoming season starting in March, Dhoni, at 42, has showcased remarkable fitness.

Having played IPL 2023 with a knee injury, Dhoni underwent surgery after securing CSK’s sixth IPL title. The subsequent recovery and rehabilitation at JSCA facilities in Ranchi have fueled his readiness for the upcoming season. Despite retirement rumours circulating last season, Dhoni clarified his intention to return for at least another year as a gesture of gratitude to loyal fans.
