IPL Auctions 2023: Three Players Gujarat Titans might retain

Gujarat Titans won the Indian Premier League 2022 in their first attempt defeating Rajasthan Royals in the final. Here are some of the players that the team might retain before the auction in December.

Gujarat Titans won the Indian Premier League 2022 in their first attempt with all-rounder Hardik Pandya leading his team to an emphatic over Rajasthan Royals in the final. Pandya found the right balance between leading the side and also performing as a player. He was smart with his bowling changes, making intelligent decisions with the batting order, he took responsibility with both bat and ball and led from the front. Here are some of the players that the team might retain before the auction in December.

Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill was one of Gujarat Titans’ most talented players in IPL 2022. Gill has been piling up the runs with great consistency, he is aggressive at the top and puts a high price tag on his wicket. Shubman is a vital cog in Gujarat’s batting lineup. Gill will almost certainly be one of the players retained by the franchise ahead of the IPL 2023 auction as he is one of the best openers going around in India and will soon be featuring the Indian side regularly as well.

Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan is considered one of the best T20 bowlers going around and now he improved his batting as well. Rashid scalped 19 wickets in 16 innings in the preview season. He was indeed the franchise’s go-to bowler in crunch situations. Apart from bowling, he has played crucial cameos at the tail end of innings helping his team win the title last season. Rashid Khan will almost certainly be one of the players retained by Gujarat Titans ahead of the IPL 2023 mini-auction.

Mohammed Shami

Shami was the Gujarat Titans’ most effective seamer this IPL season, picking 20 wickets in 16 innings. The right arm pacer has recovered from injury and will be raring to get on the field in the IPL. His opening spell with the new ball and ability to bowl yorkers in the death proved to be vital for GT last season. Given his outstanding bowling performance in the IPL 2022, he will almost certainly be retained by the franchise ahead of the next auction in December.
