However, Mumbai won one out of three games so far, and the only win came against the Delhi Capitals. The Capitals scored 172 runs in 19.4 overs after Mumbai won the toss and opted to bowl. David Warner and Axar Patel were the only warriors for the Delhi Capitals as they both scored the fifties. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan got off to a good start to the team as they put up 68 runs in the powerplay. Tilak Varma contributed with 29-ball 41 runs whereas Tim David and Cameron Green took the team to the finish line on the last delivery.
On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders have played four matches so far, winning and losing two games each. They are coming into this game after losing their last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. KKR won the toss and elected to bowl. Sunrisers put up a huge total of 228 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs courtesy of a century from Harry Brook. Aiden Markram also played a captain’s knock, making 50 runs off 26 deliveries. In reply, KKR lost three wickets inside the powerplay. Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh tried their best to reach the finish line, but their efforts went in vain as KKR lost the game by 23 runs.

Both teams have met 31 times so far where Mumbai Indians won 22 times and KKR won 9 times as well.
