The 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) is all set to begin on March 31. However, before the match, the IPL 2023 opening ceremony will happen on the same day.

The 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) is all set to begin on March 31. Everyone is also excited to see their favourite players and teams playing in the upcoming season of the cash-rich league. However, this year, the league will kick off at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The first match will be played between defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) and four-time IPL title winner Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

However, before the match, the IPL 2023 opening ceremony will happen on the same day. It will start around 6 pm and Bollywood actress Tamannah Bhatia has been confirmed as the first performer for the opening ceremony as well.

IPL 2023 opening ceremony venue, date and time

The IPL 2023 opening ceremony will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on 31 March ahead of the Chennai Super Kings vs Gujarat Titans match. While the ceremony will take place around 6 pm, the match is also scheduled to start at 7:30 pm.

IPL 2023 opening ceremony performers

Bollywood actress Tamannah Bhatia will be the first performer for the opening ceremony of the IPL 2023. According to reports, Rashmika Mandanna, Arijit Singh, Katrina Kaif and Tiger Shroff will also perform in the opening ceremony.

Meanwhile, former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has stated that IPL 16 will be a colossal income worker for telecasters as all the fans will check out their TV sets to watch the games as well.

“They (broadcasters) are actually expecting the highest rating of IPL this season because they believe if (people) don’t turn up in the ground, they will be actually watching on their television sets,” said Ganguly who also referred to it as a ‘positive’ thing.

The IPL 2023 opening ceremony will expectedly take 45 minutes to finish whereas, before the IPL 2023 opening ceremony, all the captains of 10 teams will meet in a mandatory meeting on March 30 in Ahmedabad as well. They are expected to be present during the opening ceremony. However, according to the organizers, the tickets for the first game between Chennai and Gujarat are sold out. It will be the first ‘home’ game for Gujarat in the Indian Premier League.
