The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin on March 31 with Gujarat Titans (GT) playing against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. All 10 franchises will compete in a total of 70 league games for the coveted trophy which will be played across two months followed by the playoffs as well.
Gujarat Titans are the defending champions after having won the title last year in their maiden appearance in the league. Hardik Pandya-led franchise had a fabulous 2022 season and they will hope to have the same edition this season too as well with a good mix of experienced and young players and they will try to start their title defence on a winning note.
On the other hand, the Chennai Super Kings are one of the most successful franchises in the competition. They have reached the final nine times and won the title four times. Led by none other than Mahendra Singh Dhoni, CSK certainly have an upper hand and they will start as favourites ahead of IPL 2023. They have a solid squad for the upcoming edition and they will look to start their tournament with a win and grab two points.
