Two of the most successful franchises of the Indian Premier League – Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings will take on each other on May 6 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Notably, both teams are currently in the race to seal their places for the IPL playoffs and the high-voltage match can be seen as well. Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings’ last match against Lucknow Super Giants didn’t have a result as the rain played spoilsport. As far as the individual performances, opener Devon Conway is in great touch alongside Ajinkya Rahane, who is batting at a strike rate of 189.83 in the ongoing IPL 2023 as well.
However, Conway has amassed 414 runs in ten matches so far and with that, he is currently placed third in the race for the IPL Orange Cap as well. Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesha Pathirana are also doing well with the ball so far. Pace bowler Deepak Chahar has also returned but he wasn’t very effective on his return against LSG. On the other hand, Tushar Deshpande is one of the highest wicket-takers in the tournament but he is also conceding a lot of runs.
As far as Mumbai Indians are concerned, they were struggling initially but made an amazing return, winning their last two games against Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings. The good news for them is the return to the form of young opener Ishan Kishan and the middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav. However, Rohit Sharma’s struggle is a huge concern. Although Tim David is doing well, their batting unit failed to step up. However, their bowlers are not in form as they are leaking a lot of runs at the moment. While Jofra Archer is not in form, Piyush Chawla has stepped up. And, it will be a cracking contest for sure.
