Defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) are set to take on SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 31 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Tuesday. MI skipper Rohit Sharma is on the brink of securing a remarkable milestone in the upcoming game. Rohit needs three sixes to become the first Indian to record 400 T20 sixes, having smashed 397 maximums so far. The opener has been in fine form for the Mumbai-based franchise in IPL 2021, making his presence felt with some excellent performances.

Chris Gayle has hit the most sixes overall in the shortest format, with 1017 big hits. He is followed by Kieron Pollard in the list, with the all-rounder accumulating 726 maximums. Former New Zealand cricketer Brendon McCullum has smashed the third highest number of sixes, with 485 big hits so far. Andre Russell is the fourth name in the list, having accumulated 473 sixes. Russell is followed by former Australian cricketer Shane Watson, who smashed 467 big hits during his glorious career. South African player AB de Villiers is the next name on the list, having accumulated 430 maximums. Rohit follows the RCB batsman, with 397 sixes.

Potential Records

Ishan Kishan is also 35 runs away from reaching the 1000-run mark, having accumulated 965 runs for the Mumbai Indians. Jasprit Bumrah will be playing his 100th IPL game, after taking the field against the Hyderabad-based franchise. Bumrah will be the sixth player to reach the landmark for the Mumbai Indians in the cash-rich league.

All-rounder Krunal Pandya needs to account for one more dismissal to complete 50 wickets for the Mumbai-based franchise in IPL. Krunal will become the second MI player to score in excess of 1,000 runs and take more than 50 wickets for the team, after Pollard.

Manish Pandey has a chance of achieving the milestone of 6,000 T20 runs if he scores 56 more runs. Manish has accumulated 5,944 T20 runs in 239 innings. The cricketer will become the ninth Indian player to achieve the milestone, which is certainly quite interesting. SRH will look to make their presence felt against the defending champions, having struggled so far in IPL 2021.
