Consistency is a word that is not often associated with Royal Challengers Bangalore. In their entire 13-year journey in the IPL, they have always blown hot and cold. The start that Royal Challengers Bangalore have had in IPL 2021 is similar to 2016, when they made all the way to the final. In 2021, the tendency to perhaps buckle under pressure might not be there. Out of the three games, two have been close finishes. Their win against Mumbai Indians was by two wickets. They won by six runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Two close games, in addition to one dominant performance against Kolkata Knight Riders. The chances are that they may be on the charge against Rajasthan Royals, who are in a mess at this point in time. Sanju Samson’s hundred went in vain due to a misjudgment against Punjab Kings. Although they fought back from the brink against Delhi Capitals, they were simply blown away by Chennai Super Kings.

Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer are out injured. Now, even Liam Livingstone has exited the IPL due to bio-bubble fatigue. The batting and bowling resources are now heavily depleted. Samson is once again in the trend where he starts the IPL on a high but then fades away. Royal Challengers Bangalore, on the other hand, have depth in batting and bowling.

Although Virat Kohli is not firing, AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell are proving to be the ultimate game-changers in the middle order for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Harshal Patel and  Yuzvendra Chahal have delivered the goods on a regular basis.

Team News

Royal Challengers Bangalore will possibly go into the match without any changes. They might want to bolster the batting and bowling by getting Dan Christian instead of Rajat Patidar. With Royal Challengers Bangalore playing for the first time in Wankhede, they might want to get more pacers in the side. However, Chahal and Washington Sundar might also get purchase from the wicket.

On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals’ lack of depth might force them to play with the same team
