India Women will face Australia Women in the fourth T20I on Saturday (December 17). Australia presently leads the five-match T20 series 2-1. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led team must win the fourth game to keep the series alive. After losing the first match, the Indian team bounced back in style in the 2nd T20I as they won a thriller against the mighty Aussies. Chasing a mammoth target of 187 runs, Smriti Mandhan was the stand-out batter in the chase scoring 79 runs off 49 balls. The game went down to the wire, Richa Ghosh smashed 3 sixes in the death over got the match close and Debutant Devika Vaidya slammed a boundary on the last ball which tied the match. Mandhana was magnificent in the Super Over as well, scoring 20 runs in the over along with the able support of Richa Ghosh. India lost the 3rd T20I.

The third T20I, played at Brabourne Stadium, was another competitive match between the two powerful sides. However, after a strong start, India lost the game by a score of 21 runs. When asked in to bat, the Aussies put up a respectable total of 172 runs, thanks to some excellent batting from Grace Harris and Ellyse Perry. Perry’s 75-run knock in just 45 balls was outstanding. Grace Harris got 41 runs in 18 balls. In response, India lost a few of early wickets before Harmanpreet and Shafali Verma put on a 73-run stand. However, they lost wickets at regular intervals after that and fell short by 21 runs.
