India will lock horns with Australia in the third game of the five-match T20I series on Wednesday, 14th of December. After losing the first match, the Indian team bounced back in style in the 2nd T20I as they won a thriller against the mighty Aussies. Chasing a mammoth target of 187 runs, Smriti Mandhan was the stand-out batter in the chase scoring 79 runs off 49 balls. The game went down to the wire, Richa Ghosh smashed 3 sixes in the death over got the match close and Debutant Devika Vaidya slammed a boundary on the last ball which tied the match. Mandhana was magnificent in the Super Over as well, scoring 20 runs in the over along with the able support of Richa Ghosh. India‘s batting has looked good but the bowling has been awful.

India were unable to take more than 1 wicket in both matches as Australian opener Beth Mooney and Tahlia McGrath notched up unbroken partnerships in both games with 100* & 158* respectively. Beth Mooney has been unstoppable with scores of 89* and 82* runs while Tahlia has smashed 40* and 70*, the other batters are yet to bat, India’s bowling has been poor, on the other hand, Australian bowling has been decent with Heather Graham being the pick of the bowlers, picking up 3 wickets in the 2nd T20I. Spinner Alana King and all-rounder Sutherland have not lived up to the expectations.
