India is the only nation to have an even or positive head-to-head ratio against all teams in world cricket when it comes to Twenty20 Internationals.
The Indian cricket team continued their dominant run in Twenty20 Internationals as they secured a 3-2 win in the five-match series against England, the No.1 ranked side in the world. Virat Kohli’s series win has now extended their dominance in the T20I format in which they have now won seven out of the last eight series since 2019. Ever since their 2-0 loss to Australia at home in 2019 before the World Cup, the Indian cricket team has been dominant. They drew 1-1 against South Africa but they have been in top form against the likes of Bangladesh, West Indies and Sri Lanka. Against New Zealand, they secured a 5-0 whitewash for the first time ever while they won a Twenty20 International series for the second consecutive time in Australia.
With this win against England, India are now the only nation to have won a five-match Twenty20 International series twice. In fact, India is the only country that has series win in all nations in the Twenty20 International format. They beat England 2-1 in 2018 while they whitewashed the West Indies 3-0 in 2019. They have won the Asia Cup as well as a tri-series tournament in the format, making them the only nation to achieve this in addition to the T20 World Cup.
When they won the fifth and final match against England, India achieved another statistical milestone. They became the only nation on the planet to have an even or positive head-to-head ratio against every team in cricket. Here is a list of India’s record against all the teams in Twenty20 International cricket.

When India started out in the Twenty20 International format, they held a negative head-to-head record only against the West Indies, England, New Zealand and had a slightly even record against Sri Lanka. They had the wood over Australia and other nations but they were struggling against the others. Until the 2016 World Cup, India lacked consistency but all that changed in the next couple of years.
Against Sri Lanka, they went on to win 10 out of 12 Twenty20 Internationals ever since the heartbreak of the 2014 ICC World T20 final. Against the West Indies, until the 2017 series, India had a negative head-to-head ratio of 2-5 against the two-time champions. However, India went on to win eight out of nine Twenty20 Internationals since 2018. The only side they continued to struggle was against New Zealand.
Although they won a Twenty20 series against New Zealand after six consecutive defeats, they still had a negative ratio of 2-6 against them. The gap widened to 3-8 in 2019 when New Zealand won the three-match series 2-1. However, in 2020, all that changed. India achieved a 5-0 whitewash, aided primarily by New Zealand’s choke in two back-to-back Super Overs. The series win ensured India did not have a negative head-to-head against any nation.
However, Australia and England have defeated India the most number of times in Twenty20 Internationals with nine followed by New Zealand with eight. The win in Ahmedabad, though, showed that India are truly the No.1 side when it comes to Twenty20 Internationals.
