Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has made a bizarre prediction that Australia will score 450/2 in the final and bowl out India for 65.
The stage is set in Motera, Ahmedabad for the world cricket’s biggest prize i.e. the ICC World Cup 2023 Finals. Team India will square off against five-time champions Australia in the finals. For many Indians sitting back home and glued to their television sets, it will be a redemption time for the 2003 World Cup Finals. Naturally such a mercurial clash will always be fraught with rumours, claims and outlandish predictions.
However, the Indian team has put aside every comments, rumours and predictions outside their dressing room and focused solely on the match. For the men in blue, the stakes are very high who have not won since the 2013 Champions Trophy. This is a long wait for a nation which boasts of 1.4 billion cricket-crazy people. Nevertheless, the hosts cannot take things lightly as they will be against an Australian side who have won eight matches in a row and will be playing in their eighth World Cup final.
India are unbeaten in the tournament, having won all of their 10 matches so far. This includes a 70-run triumph agaisnt New Zealand in the semi-final. Australia, on the other hand, have turned their fortunes after losing their first two games of the group stage. The Pat Cummins-led side defeated South Africa in the second semi-final on Thursday. Subsequently, it meant a final date against Rohit Sharma and his men.
Earlier this year, Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh had predicted that his team will make it to the final and beat India on their soil. Surprisingly, Marsh had made a bizzare prediction that Australia will score 450/2 in the final. Furthermore, the Australian added that his side has the capability to bowl India out for 65 to lift the title. With Australia entering the final after a hard-fought win over the Proteas, Marsh’s prediction has now gone viral.
