Former American boxer Floyd Mayweather has come out on social media to praise Team India after reaching the finals of ICC World Cup 2023.
Former boxing World champion Floyd Mayweather has praised the men in blue led by blistering captain Rohit Sharma. The unbeaten Indian squad is gearing up for a historic showdown at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. Mayweather who is renowned for his unbeaten career and 15 major World Championships took to X (formerly Twitter) to put up a very inspiring video for the men in blue. In the video was also present another boxing legend Vivek Ranadive was equally supportive of India’s victory. The duo had gone to attend a match of NBA from where they posted the message.

World-renowned boxer Floyd Mayweather has posted an online video for Team India after the men in blue cruised through the semifinals against the Kiwis. “I want to say to the Indian cricket team, congratulations. You guys are the best for making it to the World Cup finals” Mayweather remarked in the video.
India’s journey in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup has been nothing short of spectacular. India has already clinched the title twice. The first one came in 1983 in the UK while the second one came in 2011 in front of a packed stadium at Wankhede. Moreover, India’s dominance continued in the current tournament. The hosts finished the group stage on top with an impeccable record of nine wins out of nine matches. As a result, India topped the points table with a massive lead of 18 points.

While the group stages were for the finesse of the Indian team, the semi-final against New Zealand showcased India’s resilience. The Kiwis displayed a fierce fight to chase India’s formidable total.
