ICC Twenty20 team rankings came out and India has retained the second spot in the T20s. However, they have dropped to third place in the ODI after the annual update carried out on Monday. India are just 5 points away from the top-ranked England in the T20 team rankings.

England’s record has been impeccable as they drew a three-match series against Pakistan 1-1. They also defeated Australia 2-1 and South Africa 3-0 before losing an away series to India by a 2-3 margin.

New Zealand also moved up from the fifth to the third spot in the T20I update. They achieved this after series wins over the West Indies, Pakistan, Australia and Bangladesh. Australia have moved down from third to fifth.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have moved to the eighth and ninth positions, respectively, and West Indies have dropped two places to 10th.

According to the ICC, do not include points from 2017-18 and almost equal weigh-in from the matches that were played in 2019-20, which includes the 2019 World Cup.

Where does India stand in ODIs?

In the annual update of the ODI Team rankings, India dropped a place to third behind Australia and new table toppers New Zealand.

The Kiwis have replaced reigning world champions England and have taken the number 1 spot in the ODI rankings.

New Zealand defeated Bangladesh 3-0 in their only ODI last year, and moved up two slots after gaining three rating points to reach an aggregate of 121. Australia are second with 118 points while India and England are both on 115.

In the past year, England has lost 1-2 series to Australia and India, as well as an ODI to Ireland.

The latest update, the rating from May 2020, is counted at 100 percent and those of the previous two years at 50 percent. Australia moved up from fourth to second and India dropped one place to third. The West Indies took over Sri Lanka to ninth position.

Despite the pandemic, 80 countries have played the required six T20Is over the past three years to be able to stay in the rankings. Five countries have lost their ranking after the update. They are Gambia, Ghana, Hungary, Sierra Leone and Sweden.

The annual update to the Test rankings will come after the ongoing Pakistan-Zimbabwe series comes to an end.
