On Saturday, the third game of the Bangladesh Premier League 2023 will take place at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur between Dhaka Dominators and Khulna Tigers (January 7). With only four victories in ten games, the Dominators finished the previous season in fifth place. With 407 runs from nine innings, Tamim Iqbal led all scorers, while Andre Russell led all wicket-takers for the Dominators with eight dismissals from six innings. For this season, they have increased their pace of attack by bringing in Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam.

Seven teams will compete in the Bangladesh Premier League 2023. Fortune Barishal, Khulna Tigers, Dhaka Dominators, Sylhet Striker, Rangpur Riders, and Chattogram Challengers are the teams. In the league stage, each side will play a total of 12 games. Every team will play two games against other teams throughout the competition. At the end of the league stage, the top four teams in the points standings will progress to the playoffs.

Last season, Taskin grabbed five wickets in four innings for Sylhet Strikers and was elected captain of Dhaka Dominators in 2023. With eight wickets from five innings and an economy rate of 7.27, he was Bangladesh’s best wicket-taker in the T20 World Cup 2022.
