The 5th match of the Commonwealth Games 2022 will take place between the arch-rivals - India Women vs Sri Lanka Women at Edgbaston in Birmingham on July 31, Sunday.
Women’s cricket has been included in the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games (CWG) which is scheduled to begin at the Edgbaston Stadium on July 29. On the other hand, the bronze and gold medal matches will take place on August 7 as well. However, the 5th match of the Commonwealth Games 2022 will take place between the arch-rivals – India Women vs Sri Lanka Women at Edgbaston in Birmingham on July 31, Sunday.
Team India have been clubbed with five-time world T20 champions Australia, Barbados and Pakistan in Group A. The top two teams from each of the two groups will play in the semi-finals as well. India have a strong squad with swashbuckling openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma, alongside captain Harmanpreet Kaur. And the recent 2-1 win over Sri Lanka in the T20I series will provide them with the much-needed confidence. On the other hand, Pakistan too did well in their last few games. And, considering the rivalry, the game is going to be an interesting one as well.
