Australia and South Africa locked horns on day 3 of the 2nd test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. South Africa came in to bat under gloomy overcast conditions and lost their skipper, Dean Elgar for a duck. Theunis de Bruyn was dropped by David Warner early on in his innings, the play was stopped due to rain and Sarel Erwee is batting on 7* off 21 balls while Theunis de Bruyn is lucky to be there on 6* off 18 balls as South Africa reached 15/1 after 7 overs. South Africa trails by 371 runs with 9 wickets in hand, it looks like a herculean task from here to win the match with two days still remaining in the match.
