Ambati Rayudu announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, the right hand batter ended his career on a high after winning the IPL 2023 Trophy with Chennai Super Kings on Monday. Rayudu had hinted before the IPL 2023 final that he was retiring from the IPL after Chennai Super Kings’s battle against Gujarat Titans. Rayudu he ended his career in the T20 tournament with his 6th title, he is only the 2nd person after Rohit Sharma to win 6 IPL trophies.

Ambati Rayudu could not have asked for a better finish to his IPL career as he played a key role in CSK beating Gujarat Titans in the final in Ahmedabad. Rayudu smashed a couple of back to back sixes at a crucial junctures of the game and put CSK ahead at the Narendra Modi Stadium. After the heroics from Ravindra Jadeja, Ambati Rayudu couldn’t control his emotions and had tears in his eyes. It was a emotional moment for the team as he was with them for several years.

“It has been an emotional night that culminated in a special IPL win. On that high note, I would like to announce my retirement from all forms of Indian cricket. When I took up the cricket bat as a kid playing with the tennis ball at home, I didn’t imagine the wonderful journey that would follow for three decades,” Rayudu said in his social media post. I consider it my greatest honor to have represented my country from the Under-15 to the highest level. I still remember the day I received my India cap for the first time in 2013 – it is a memory I will cherish forever” said Rayudu

Rayudu started his career with the Mumbai Indians, where he batter down the order and was considered a finished. He later moved to Chennai Super Kings and was given the opener’s role for a few season and later was assigned to bat in the middle order. Thought the course of his IPL career, he has successful stints with both these franchises and has singlehanded won games for them and will definitely go down as a legend of the Indian Premier League.
