5 players who were unlucky to miss out in IPL Auction 2023

Let's have a look at some of the talented players who have been in decent touch and despite performing well were ignored by all the teams during the auctions.

The IPL Auction saw a lot of drama, with some fierce bidding and records broken. Some of the players became millionaires and some didn’t even get a bid. Let’s have a look at some of the talented players who have been in decent touch and despite performing well for their respective international teams and their franchises were ignored by all the teams in Kochi on the 23rd of December, 2022 during the IPL auctions.

Chris Jordan – England

The English pacer has been a very reliable bowler in the T20s. His yorkers and ability to change pace, make him lethal in the death over. Jordan has ample amounts of experience and has played T20 cricket around the globe for various franchises, apart from being a regular in the England white-ball unit. Chris Jordan is one of the finest fielders in modern-day cricket as well and can tong the ball over the boundary line when needed. It was shocking to see, Chris Jordan go unsold in the IPL 2023 Auction.

James Neesham- New Zealand

James Neesham, the all-rounder from New Zealand because is known around the world for his exploits in the shortest format, his ability to contribute with both bat and ball makes him a valuable player in any team. Neesham features in the New Zealand T20 team on a regular basis. Although, he has not been in the best of form, his experience and match-winning ability make him very dangerous. The franchises did not make a bid for him and the left-hand batter went unsold in the IPL auctions.

Mujeeb ur Rahman – Afghanistan

The Afghanistan mystery spinner has become a popular name amongst various T20 franchises around the globe, he is very effective with the new ball and has proved to be a consistent performer over the years. Mujeeb has been brilliant for his international team and IPL franchises in the past. The spinner failed to get any bids in the IPL Auction 2023.

Dushmantha Chameera – Sri Lanka

Dushmantha Chameera had a base price of just Rs 50 Lakhs in the IPL 2023 Auction. He constantly bowls at the pace of 140 km/ph and has the ability to pick up wickets with his swing in the powerplay and can also bowl some handy yorkers in the death as well. Chameera represented LSG in the previous IPL and bowled well for them. However, in this auction, none of the IPL franchises showed interest in him.

Wayne Parnell – South Africa

Wayne Parnell is a regular member of the South African team in international cricket. The left-arm pacer has a very good record in T20s and can also contribute with the bat lower down the order. Parnell has been a match-winner over the years, his uncanny ability to pick up wickets and break partnerships makes him a valuable player in any team. The South African bowling all-rounder went unsold in the IPL mini-auction.
