Yalemzerf Yehualaw Densa, commonly known as Yalemzerf Yehualaw, is a long-distance runner from Ethiopia, who excels in 10 km and marathon running events. In the 10 km road running competition, she also holds the world record. She is the defending London Marathon champion, clocking a time of 2:17:26. Yehualaw, who is also the youngest woman to win the London Marathon, achieved her first triumph in a World Marathon Major on October 2, 2022. She is placed second all-time in the world for the half marathon and ninth all-time for the marathon running.

Only two athletes have ever run the 10,000m on a track quicker than her: her fellow countrywoman Letesenbet Gidey, who currently holds the world record with a time of 29:01:03, and Sifan Hassan of the Netherlands, who clocked in at 29:06.82. In April, the Ethiopian superstar had a sensational marathon debut in Hamburg, setting a record-breaking time of 2:17:23. In October 2022, she made her final appearance of the season at the London Marathon, when she also set another record of being the youngest athlete to win in London.
Yalemzerf Yehualaw was born in Finote Selam, West Gojjam, Amhara Region, as the eldest of six siblings. Her name means ‘edge of the world’ in Amharic. When she was 12 years old, she began winning school-sponsored track events. Later, she won youth track championships in her very competitive division. She was given the opportunity to study in the Ethiopian Youth Sport Academy in Addis Abeba after winning on the track, the road, and in cross-country competitions. This is also where she currently lives. She was chosen to join the NN Running Team, four years later. It is coached by Tessema Abshero. Yehualaw, who was 19 at that time, earned her international running debut in April 2019 and won the Rabat Half Marathon in Morocco.
