It is said that the 20-year-old, who is mocked as the male sprinting heir apparent for Jamaica, has severed connections with the seasoned trainer and will now train under another sprinting guru, Lance Brauman, at the Pure Athletics club in Clermont, Florida. Shaunae Miller-Uibo, a two-time Olympic champion in the 400 meters from the Bahamas, and Noah Lyles, an American who won the 200-meter world championship, are also members of the elite training squad.
Oblique Seville advanced to the Olympic semifinals in Tokyo. At the Eugene, Oregon, World Athletics Championships in 2022, he improved and made it to the final. He came in fourth in the 100-meter final. In the 100-meter race at the 2023 Jamaican National Championships, Seville came in third behind unexpected winner Rohan Watson.
