Pedro Pablo Pichardo Peralta, popularly known as Pedro Pichardo, is a Portuguese triple jumper of Cuban origin who currently owns the Olympic, World, and European titles. With a Portuguese national record of 17.98 meters, he captured the gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Pedro Pablo Pichardo, who was born and raised in Cuba, stunned the sports community in 2012 when he won gold in the triple jump at the World Junior Championship. He entered into a deal with S.L. Benfica in April 2017, and in December 2017, he became a citizen of Portugal, which he now represents internationally.

Pedro missed out on a medal at the World Championships in Doha, Qatar, two years later, but he showed his mettle in 2021 by winning gold at the European Indoor Championships and becoming the Olympic champion in Tokyo. The summer after that saw him continue to succeed as he won gold at both the European and World Athletics Championships. He set a personal best of 18.08 meters in Havana on May 28, 2015, which was also the Cuban national record.

The Global Sports Brand PUMA collaborated with the Cuban Olympic Committee, resulting in Cuban athletes donning PUMA clothing and footwear at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto. Following agreements with the Cuban Boxing and Volleyball Federations, as well as a number of athletes, including world medalist jumpers Pedro Pichardo and Yarisley Silva, boxers Erislandy Savon and Roniel Iglesias Sotolongo, this new cooperation with Cuban Athletics was established in 2015. All of the athletes mentioned above endorsed PUMA items in every competition in which they competed.

Red Bull, which has been a long-time sponsor for Pedro, created a limited-edition energy drink can in honor of Pedro as a tribute for an extraordinary Tokyo Olympic campaign. Red Bull unveiled the design of the new can, which featured the Benfica athlete’s face as well as his autograph. Pichardo succeeded Miguel Oliveira, who was also showcased by the Austrian brand two years ago.
