Track and field athlete Yulimar Rojas Rodrguez, also known as Yulimar Rojas, is from Venezuela and currently owns the women’s triple jump world record with a height of 15.74 meters. She is referred to as the “queen of the triple jump” and is currently the Olympic, three-time World, and three-time World Indoor Champion. Rojas is openly lesbian and an LGBT+ activist in her home country. She is famous for coloring her short hair in vibrant hues. She was also the first Venezuelan athlete to be named the Female Athlete of the Year. She is presently one of the prominent female athletes in the world.

Yulimar Rojas Rodriguez was born on October 21, 1995 in Caracas, Venezuela.  She was born in Caracas and raised in a Ranchito shanty on a small farm near Pozuelos, Anzoategui. She had six siblings. She grew up with a huge family but in subpar housing. This instilled in her the desire to overcome obstacles, which aided her career. Additionally, she could not have advanced her career given the status of her nation. It was ideal for her to relocate elsewhere, according to her previous instructors, because she couldn’t have pursued sports in her own country without sufficient care. Shot put was the first sport she competed in. She won the competition, however she chose to try out other sports.

Starting in 2014, Rojas frequently participated in both horizontal and vertical jump competitions. In the high jump, she won her first senior gold medal beginning with the South American Games in March 2014. In 2014, she claimed that she got more inclined towards the triple jump and persuaded Velásquez to allow her switch her primary discipline. Then, she went to claim the under-20 record for Venezuela by rising to 13.65 m. The FVA, also known as the Venezuelan Athletics Federation, had realized how promising she was and knew with the right instruction, she could jump considerably higher. She then went on to break national record (6.57 m), establishing herself as her country’s best all-time jumper at the 2015 Venezuelan Championships.
