Brooke Andersen is one of the American athletes who specialized in the hammer throw. She was one of the athletes who recently competed in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics on behalf of the USA. After finishing in second place in the trial games, she was accepted onto the national team. Gwendolyn Berry took home third place, while DeAnna Price took home first. The NAU scholar-athlete of the year attended Rancho Buena Vista High School in Vista to complete her high school education.

Brooke enrolled at Northern Arizona University after graduating from high school. She later graduated from college with a degree in environmental science. She majored in biology and minored in business during college. When she was a senior in high school, Andersen began her career in the hammer throw. She competed in the Avocado Meet while still in high school and won the competition. Additionally, the following year, she was crowned USATF U20 Junior Champion.

She continued hammer throwing even after she graduated from high school because her high school career was already going very well. For two years in a row, she took home the silver medal in the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship. She persisted in honing her skills until she took first place in a hammer throw competition at the Rathdrum in Idaho, moving her up to the position of number fourteen among all throwers in recorded history. She also competed in and took home silver from the Pan American Games that same year.

Andersen not only took home medals in the competitions, but she also set records for weights and heights at her university. She also received the title of field athlete of the year for the Mountain region. Andersen felt confident to advance in her career as a result of all these accomplishments. She attempted to participate in the 2016 Olympic trials but was unsuccessful because she finished thirteenth. Andersen tried again for the 2020 Olympic trials despite not being qualified for the 2016 Games. Her years of dedication paid off, as she qualified for the Olympics after taking second place in the trials.

She then took a flight to Tokyo to represent the US Olympic team. After placing second in the Group A event, she had a successful opening to her Olympic career. But in the final, she was unable to keep up the same speed. She finished tenth in the hammer throw competition and went home without winning anything. Brooke Andersen signed as a brand ambassador for Nike in July 2022. Before signing with Nike earlier last year, Andersen lacked a sponsorship agreement.
