The main events at the USA Track and Field Los Angeles Grand Prix will be live on Saturday from 1:30 pm- 4 p.m. ET on NBC.
The fastest woman this season over the 100 meters, Sha’Carri Richardson, and world-record holder in the pole vault, Armand “Mondo” Duplantis, will compete on May 26 and 27 in an action to maintain their dominance in their respective disciplines. Duplantis is one of a select group of athletes who is about to begin their outdoor season. The Swede won the All-Star Perche 2023 competition in Clermont-Ferrand, France, last February, setting a new indoor pole vault record with a clearance of 6.22 meters.
Richardson has been in excellent form this year, winning the Diamond League competition in Doha with a time of 10:76 seconds in the 100 meters. She then won the 200-meter race at the Kip Keino Classic in Nairobi. Competition from fellow American Aleia Hobbs, Ivorian Marie-Josee Ta Lou, and Jamaica’s 4×100 Olympic champion Briana Williams will be fierce for the sprinter.
Ryan Crouser joins the group of world-record holders, looking to strengthen his season as he gears up for his world title defense in Budapest this August. While Christian Coleman and Ronnie Baker will compete in the 100m, Knighton will face off against Kenneth Bednarek in the 200m. Tobi Amusan, the current world champion, and Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, the Olympic champion, will compete in the women’s 100-meter hurdles.
