The Sri Lanka Athletics Nationals 2023 is currently underway from July 28 to July 30, 2023, in the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo.
The Sri Lanka Athletics Nationals 2023 is currently underway from July 28 to July 30, 2023, in the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo. The 101st Sri Lankan Nationals is also hosting competitors from the Maldives and India. A total of 27 Indian athletes are set to participate in the three-day sporting event.
Among the participants, Olympian Seema Punia is one of the accomplished athletes in the women’s discus throw who won gold at the Asian Games in 2014. Manu DP, who bagged the silver medal in the men’s javelin throw at the Asian Athletics Championships in 2023, is taking part in the Sri Lanka Athletics Nationals 2023. Annu Rani, the Commonwealth Games 2022 bronze medalist who holds India’s national record for the women’s javelin throw, also is taking part.
Amlan Borgohain, India’s national records in the men’s 100m and 200m races, is also scheduled to showcase his talent at the Sri Lanka Athletics Nationals 2023. Borgohain will also be part of the Indian team for the FISU World University Games 2023, slated to commence on July 28, 2023, in Chengdu, China. The women’s 400m race will witness the participation of Jisna Mathew and Rezoana Mallick Heena, the Asian U20 and U18 champion.
