The CorridaPédestre Internationale de Houilles, west of Paris, is now recognized internationally as one of the fastest 10km road events.
The first event, held in 1972, was inspired by the legendary Sao Paulo bullfight in Brazil. After over 50 years, the CorridaPédestre Internationale de Houilles, west of Paris, is now recognized internationally as one of the fastest 10km road events in the world. The event, which is designated as World Athletics’ Elite Label race, is organized on a volunteer basis by the Houilles Festival Committee and is in a high position for running in France and Europe.
Julien Wanders broke the French and European records there in 27’25 in 2018 in the men’s category, while in the women’s race, Liv Westphal broke the French record at 31’13 in 2019. During the previous event, 44 runners finished in under 30 minutes, and 24 female runners finished in under 36 minutes. The two races available to competitors are the popular race, open to all, and the race of Aces, for the best of the best.
The popular race is accessible to all runners, regardless of ability. This race, which takes place every year on the last Sunday of the year and combines a festive atmosphere and races of all levels, gives around 1,500-2,000 runners one last challenge before the New Year. The Race of Aces, which is open to men and women aged 37 and 44, is undoubtedly one of the most prestigious races in the world and has one of the finest records for a road race of 10 kilometers.
