Eddie Kingston is now living his dream by taking part in the G1 Climax in New Japan. On the first night of the competition, he faced Shingo Takagi, who had been the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.

“The dream lives on, folks. I’m not going to lie when I saw I was paired up against Shingo, former IWGP World Champion, I was so nervous. I tried to play it off like I was cool. I was so nervous. He’s so good. “I’m not going to lie and sit here and say, ‘Yeah, I beat his ass.’ I didn’t. I’m a little disappointed in my performance. The hernia surgery I had eight weeks before the tour of Japan started acting up after he gave me a knee to the gut. It’s a lot of pain. “No excuses, though. I won. I got lucky. I’m going to have to do better against EVIL.”

Eddie Kingston wants Shingo Takagi

After thanking Takagi for the fight, the Mad King said he wanted to do it again. He even told Tony Khan where the fight would take place, saying that he should book it for either “All In” on August 27 in London, UK, or “All Out” a week later in Chicago.

“Shingo, I’m not going to talk a lot of trash. This is a sport, and I’m going to treat it like a sport. Thank you for the fight, and I hope we do it again.

“Tony Khan, I’m going to put you on the spot. Me and Shingo, All In, All Out, give us time. Me and Shingo will show the world Strong Style and King’s Road combined.”

Since Takagi will already be in London that weekend, the idea of having the match there isn’t as crazy as it might seem. The Dragon is set to face Will Ospreay in the main event of Revolution Pro Wrestling’s 11th Anniversary show on August 26.
