AEW has sold more than 70,000 tickets for its All In event on August 27 at Wembley Stadium in London. It’s by far the most tickets AEW has ever sold for an event, so people have high hopes for what Tony Khan says will be AEW’s biggest show of 2023.
That’s why it’s kind of surprising that, even though All In is exactly one month away, there are still no public matches for the card. It’s kind of like WWE being a month away from WrestleMania but not announcing any matches and having few or no sure-fire main event fights on the table.
This week’s show of Dynamite may have set the stage for Orange Cassidy and Jon Moxley to fight for the AEW International title. As for the world title, MJF said he would give Adam Cole a chance to win the gold, which could happen at Wembley Stadium.
What about one of the best wrestlers in the world, Will Ospreay, who is very popular in England? Maybe AEW needs to wait until NJPW’s G-1 competition, which is still going on, is over before they can officially book him for a match at All In.
We shouldn’t forget about CM Punk either. He’s probably the biggest star on the AEW roster and says he’s the real-world champion, but it might make more sense to save Punk vs. MJF for the All Out pay-per-view show a week later in CM’s hometown of Chicago. Punk needs to be in a big match in London, no matter what.
At Wembley Stadium, AEW is under a lot of pressure to put on one of the best wrestling shows of the year, but there is a lot of doubt about what the card will look like. Tony Khan still has four episodes of Dynamite and five episodes of Collision to put it all together.
So, dear reader, I’ll leave you to fill in the blanks. With only one month left, what’s the best possible All-In card you can think of?
