The Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament began on Dynamite Wednesday, forcing AEW world champion MJF to team up with rival and top challenger Adam Cole. That bout was the main event of a telecast that also included the newest installment of the Owen Hart Memorial Women’s Tournament and critical statements from former world champions Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley.
Before they face off for the AEW World Championship, Adam Cole and MJF paired up for the first time as part of the upcoming Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament quarterfinal. “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard and The Butcher put up a good fight against the more famous duo, but Cole finally won the battle for his side.
Following the bout, MJF wished Cole a happy birthday and ended up with cake in his face after the No. 1 challenger for his championship got the better of him.
MJF obnoxiously attempting to buddy up with Cole is amazing stuff because, while it’s a huge con, it also shows that he’s still just a person who wants to be liked by his buddies. It’s just a matter of time before he betrays Cole, but until then, this has been a lot of fun.
