On June 16th, Jim Ross suffered several injuries after falling at his home. The following day, Ross would come to the commentary booth for the AEW Collision, but after a subpar performance, he would apologize to the fans and disclose he was taking some time off to heal.

Ross recently said that there was no timetable for his AEW comeback, but he was hoping to be back in time for the company’s history-making UK PPV AEW All In.

Jim Ross makes his return at AEW Collision

‘Good Old JR’ kept his promise and made his highly anticipated AEW comeback on August 5th during AEW Collision.

Ross would return to the commentary booth ahead of the main event match between the “real AEW Champion” CM Punk and rising AEW star Ricky Starks.

Ross would then offer play-by-play commentary with ROH luminaries Nigel McGuiness and Ian Riccaboni.

CM Punk defeated ‘Absolute’ Ricky Starks in the show’s main event, forcing the former FTW Champion to lose his cool and assault WWE Hall of Famer and wrestling icon Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat.

Earlier in the night, CM Punk was challenged to a bout at AEW All In on August 27th by ROH World TV Champion Samoa Joe.

Jim Ross is now 71 years old, and he will turn 72 on January 3rd, 2024. He has been with AEW for nearly four years, dating back to the company’s start in late 2019.
