Tomorrow night’s broadcast of WWE Friday Night SmackDown promises to be a spectacular event as it celebrates a huge milestone in Roman Reigns’ career as the Undisputed Universal Champion. On the June 2nd, 2023 episode of WWE Smackdown, Roman Reigns will celebrate 1000 days as the united WWE Universal champion.

While the show will clearly advance the storyline and internal struggles within The Bloodline – Jimmy Uso delivered a Superkick to Reigns and fans have yet to hear from The Tribal Chief – the wrestling world is buzzing with excitement as Reigns prepares to celebrate 1,000 days as the champion. The excitement doesn’t stop there, as FightfulSelect says that a new WWE Universal Championship will be presented in the evening.

“We’re told that as of that creative, there were also memos that mentioned ‘New WWE Universal Championship’ on it. There is set to be a podium, where the ‘New WWE Universal Championship’ would be unveiled to the world.”

According to internal WWE memos, a podium will be built up to exhibit the “New WWE Championship” in the same way as The Rock did when he debuted the WWE Championship in 2013. This discovery has raised a slew of questions among wrestling fans and aficionados alike. Will Reigns merely replace the present design with a new one, or will the WWE Championship be retired in favor of a single title?

Roman Reigns will celebrate his 1000+ day championship reign at WWE SmackDown’

While plans in the world of professional wrestling are too deviate at the last minute, it’s quite probable that we’ll see the new belt on Friday night. This news adds another layer of intrigue to an already highly anticipated SmackDown edition. It might be a historic moment, as the introduction of a new championship symbolizes the dignity and significance of Roman Reigns’ 1,000-day reign as Universal Champion. It might also mean the end of the old WWE Championship or the end of the Universal Title.

Reigns will either continue to enhance the prestige of the Universal Championship or solidify himself as the most dominating champion in history. Whatever the conclusion, the upcoming edition of SmackDown promises to be noteworthy. One of the reasons WWE may choose to have Roman hold only one championship is to give the new World Championship recently won by Seth Rollins greater importance. As long as Roman holds two belts, he will be seen as the larger and better champion of the two. Giving each man one title puts them on a more even playing field.
