Cody Rhodes made his first appearance on WWE SmackDown in 2016. The American Nightmare beat Ludwig Kaiser in one-on-one combat on Friday night. When Rhodes was fighting Kaiser in the ring, Roman Reigns’ manager Paul Heyman entered the arena and stood on the sidelines.

Heyman was then joined by The Enforcer Of The Bloodline, Solo Sikoa, and both maintained an eye on Rhodes’ bout. After Rhodes’ triumph, Heyman challenged The American Nightmare to a one-on-one bout against Sikoa on Monday night RAW. To the delight of the audience, Rhodes accepted the duel.

Rhodes approached The Tribal Chief in the previous episode of RAW, threatening to beat him in their impending title bout. The 37-year-old had prophesied that The Bloodline family will abandon Reigns after his defeat at WrestleMania on April 3. In the heat of the situation, Rhodes assaulted Sikoa, who attempted to retaliate but was stopped by Reigns.

Cody Rhodes says – ‘You can’t put a number on a feeling’

Cody Rhodes gets an opportunity to finally defeat the “Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39. Before what is perhaps the most important match of his career, Rhodes spoke with WrestleJoy about Reigns referencing pieces of his actual real-life narrative on TV.

He said, “I’ve been on trial my whole career. Everything has been on trial, from the time you’re judged so early because you’re a multi-generational and the perks that come with that. From the positions you’re put in, is that too much for a person? Or when you’re sitting there as Stardust, so low, does a person deserve that? Everything is always on trial, and the greatest thing about it is that the verdict is not decided by anyone other than fans.”

He added, “That is why social media is fun, but also can be a little intimidating. There are fans that will try to tell you things as if they are facts. They’ll use numbers, that’s a huge thing I was a part of that I regret so bad. Talking about demographics and things like that. The main thing we do, the lifeblood of it is the consumer, and the feeling. You can’t put a number on a feeling.”

Cody Rhodes takes full responsibility for the AEW star being present at the Royal Rumble

Cody Rhodes is one of the most talked about and loved wrestlers in the WWE right now and rightly so. He has captured the hearts of fans throughout the world with his superstar in-ring skills. Not only that, he is great on the mic too as he is a pro at cutting intense promos week after week.

While he has a lot of fans in the stands, it looks like some of them are from his previous company, AEW. During the Royal Rumble, which Cody eventually won, spotted in the backstage area was none other than AEW superstar, Ricky Starks. That did cause some unusual chatter in the wrestling community but recently, Rhodes spoke about the incident on the Out of Character podcast and said, “I’ll take full blame. My fault. It was a friend coming to see me in a very big, truly emotional moment. To lose your confidence as an athlete, a fighter, and an entertainer; to get back up off the mat, and not just get back up, you have to be at the level you were.

“I liked having people in my circle around me. I think also, that will be the only time anyone from another company is ever present because it creates a conversation that is not accurate. It creates an outlook, this is my friend. He wanted to be there to support me. He should have stayed his butt on the bus, but he did not, and because of that, no friends at work anymore,” said Rhodes.
