Yogeshwar Dutt was born on 2 November 1982. He is an Indian freestyle wrestler. Dutt was born in the Sonipat district of Haryana’s Bhainswal Kalan village. At the age of eight, he began wrestling in his hometown, where he also developed an admiration for Balraj Pehlwan. Coach Ramphal gave him training. Dutt joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in September 2019. He took home the bronze medal in the 60 kg division at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He received the Padma Shri honor from the Indian government in 2013. At the 2010 and 2014 Commonwealth Games, he was awarded a gold medal. Only 5 male wrestlers from India have ever won an Olympic medal, including him.

After K D Jadhav in 1952 and Sushil Kumar in 2008 and 2012, Yogeshwar Dutt became the third Indian wrestler to win an Olympic medal on August 12, 2012, giving India’s medal total a late boost at the 2012 London Olympics. In the Men’s freestyle 60 kg, Yogeshwar Dutt took home a noteworthy bronze medal. In winning the bronze medal match, he defeated North Korean Ri Jong-Myong, giving India’s Olympic team a total of five medals for the 2012 London Games. Yogeshwar had earlier earned a silver medal at an Asian qualification competition in Astana, Kazakhstan, where he fell to Iranian Masoud Esmaeilpour (2-3, 0-1) in the championship match. He was eliminated before the quarterfinal round of the Olympics after falling to the Russian B Kudukhov 1-0, 2-0. As Kudukhov advanced to the event’s finals, he was given the opportunity to compete in the repechage rounds.

At the 2014 Asian Games, Yogeshwar Dutt defeated Tajik wrestler Zalimkhan Yusupov to win the gold medal in the 65 kg freestyle wrestling division. Despite a tough battle, Dutt prevailed 1-0. In a previous match that was intensely contested and in which Dutt trailed almost the entire time, he defeated the Chinese opponent by fall in the semifinals. In the quarterfinal, he defeated North Korean Jinhyok Kang. He was classified as an “Icon” by the Haryana Hammers, one of the six teams competing in the inaugural Pro Wrestling League (PWL), which was held from December 10 to December 27 in six Indian cities.
