Born in 1986 in Fremont, Nebraska, Jordan Larson has risen to become one of America’s most decorated volleyball players. Her high school career established the stage when she broke Class C1 state records and was named Nebraska’s Gatorade High School Player of the Year. As she moved on to the University of Nebraska, she continued to excel, collecting numerous awards including the AVCA Central Region Freshman of the Year in 2005 and leading her college team to a national title in 2006. Over her four years in college, she accumulated more than 1,600 kills and 1,410 digs, making her one of the most valuable players to have ever played for the school.
In 2009, Larson then stepped into the international stage as she joined the USA national team. She started contributing and helped her team secure victories in several tournaments including the FIVB World Grand Prix and NORCECA Women’s Continental Championship. Larson won Olympic medals of all three colors – bronze in Rio 2016, silver in London 2012, and the highly coveted gold in Tokyo 2020. She also had stints in Russian, Turkish, Chinese, and Italian clubs, winning numerous titles, making her one of the most versatile players in the sport.
Jordan Larson was recognized at the 2011-12 CEV Champions League where she was named Best Receiver. In the 2013 NORCECA Championship, she grabbed the Best Server achievement, and in the following season of the CEV Champions League, she received the Best Blocker award. Larson was declared the Most Valuable Player in the 2014-15 CEV Champions League and again in the 2015 FIVB Club World Championship. Her stellar performance in the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics not only helped Team USA win their first-ever women’s volleyball gold but also earned the titles of Most Valuable Player and Best Outside Hitter awards.
