World No.8 Slovenia will face the Netherlands in the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Men’s Nations League Round 1 contest on Tuesday. Slovenia are currently placed at the 10th spot in the points table with two wins and as many losses from their four outings while the Netherlands are at the seventh spot.
Slovenia started their campaign at the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Men’s Nations League with a 0-3 loss to the United States. They extended their losing streak to two matches after a 1-3 loss to Brazil. Slovenia, however, bounced back in their last-two matches in Round 1 with resounding wins over Australia (3-0) and China (3-1).
The World No.15 side, meanwhile, were outclassed 1-3 by Japan in their inaugural Round 1 fixture before registering a second consecutive loss (0-3) to the United States. The Dutch team, then, registered two consecutive victories — Iran (3-0) and Australia (3-0) — with dropping a single set.

A fresh new format was enforced for the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Nations League ahead of the 2022 edition. The revised format will feature 16 men’s teams who will compete in pools of 8 teams during the preliminary round. Eight teams will then advance to the competition’s final knockout round. The Finals will include the seven strongest teams, with the finals host — Italy — entering the knockout round as the top-placed team. It will consist of eight matches in total; four quarterfinals, two semi-finals, and bronze and gold medal matches.
