The European Men’s U-17 Volleyball Championship is a volleyball tournament held every two years by the European Volleyball Confederation, the continent’s governing body for national teams with players under the age of 17. The EuroVolley U17M 2023 tournament, which will be held in Podgorica from July 19 to July 30, is eagerly anticipated by the volleyball community in Montenegro. Ivan Bokovi, Secretary General of the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro (OSCG), spoke to the media during a press conference that was held at the Voco hotel about a week before the competition started.
The European Volleyball Confederation has tasked the federation with organizing the continental championship for young male players under the age of 17 due to the excellent organization of the U17 Women’s competition held here in 2020. This entails a great honor and responsibility for them. CEV has once more commended the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro for prior efforts.
The CEV, the body in charge of policing the sport, will host an amazing international competition where the best teams from all over the world will compete. The CEV Men’s U17 European Volleyball Championship will feature a match between Bulgaria and Estonia on July 20, 2023. In this competition, there are two exceptional teams. Bulgaria, the 2021 CEV Men’s U17 European Volleyball Champions, came in fifth, while Estonia came in twenty-first. For the top spot on the table, both teams are competing.
The top 16 teams from Europe that include competitors born in 2007 and under will compete in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro, and at the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro. Fans and spectators will have the opportunity to watch the teams from Italy, France, Poland, the Netherlands, Serbia, and other volleyball powerhouses in Podgorica and Montenegro in addition to the host Montenegro. There will be 16 different countries competing. The Volleyball Federation of Montenegro has provided our young athletes with the chance to compete in a significant event and gain experience representing their nation on the European stage by hosting this European Championship. The new format, which divides the 16 national teams into two groups, is being used for the first time at the U17 European Championship in Podgorica. It’s planning is a big task.
