Over the weekend, a skilled mixed martial artist opted for caution when he was confronted by a group of four armed individuals and robbed at a gas station. Taking to Instagram, the bantamweight fighter in the UFC shared the details of his distressing encounter and the prudent actions he took in response.

Song Yodong shares his ordeal on social media

“For the first time in my life, I was held at gunpoint,” the 25-year-old bantamweight fighter said on Thursday.

“Last night, my friend and I drove back to Sacramento from San Francisco. On the way back, we were robbed by four black men at gunpoint.

“When we got there, those four Black people who robbed us were already there,”  Yadong said. “They’re not following us, they’re waiting for the victim.”

After stopping at the gas station store to grab water, Yadong, who had his last fight in April, recounted that they were suddenly approached by individuals who held them at gunpoint. The assailants demanded their belongings, and during the incident, Yadong’s friend was subjected to a pistol-whipping.

“The man told him to hand over his money, his wallet, his necklace, and hit him with the handle of his gun,” Yadong said.

The incident is all over the news

The incident occurred around 2 a.m. at the Royal gas station located on Tennessee Street in Vallejo.

Lin recounted to NBC Bay Area that all the assailants were wearing ski masks. He shared that he had recently bought a bottle of water and as he turned around, one of the young men aimed a gun directly at his face. The individual then began to forcibly remove the gold chains from Lin’s neck and took various belongings from his pockets. Once the assailant obtained Lin’s car keys, he proceeded to unlock the car.

Facing the alarming sight of a gun pointed at him, Yadong expressed his astonishment. He made the decision to hand over a necklace, wallet, and phone to the robbers. He acknowledged that although he might possess toughness, he recognized the futility of confronting someone armed with a firearm.
