Former UFC champion Rose Namajunas encountered a setback in her pursuit of victory after transitioning to the flyweight division, enduring a unanimous decision defeat against Manon Fiorot during UFC Paris on Saturday evening.

Yet, Namajunas deserves distinct commendation for her remarkable resilience, particularly given that she suffered a horrific finger injury in the initial round and valiantly fought through the full 15 minutes of the match.

A post-fight picture posted on social media unveiled significant damage to her pinky finger on the right hand.

After the initial round, Namajunas confided in her fiancé and trainer, Pat Barry, regarding her fractured finger, and he endeavored to provide her with encouragement and motivation for the upcoming second round.

Her unwavering resolve and electrifying fighting style have earned her the respect and admiration of UFC enthusiasts, resulting in her securing two distinct reigns as a strawweight champion.

Nonetheless, the 31-year-old is now compelled to reassess her strategy following her second successive loss.

In her initial match since relinquishing the title to Carla Esparza in May 2022, Namajunas experienced being outmatched by Fiorot during the three rounds of the bout. This contest unfolded in front of her hometown supporters at the Accor Arena.

Although facing defeat, Namajunas earned commendation from her manager, Brian Butler, who lauded her bravery and unwavering determination in persevering through the entire fight.
