Chael Sonnen reveals the potential reason behind Khamzat Chimaev’s absence

A video surfaced featuring Chael Sonnen, a revered figure in the UFC, discussing the scrapped bout between Chimaev and Usman. Sonnen delved into the topic for a duration of ten minutes, providing insights into the potential rationale behind the Swedish fighter’s extended hiatus from the UFC.

“There’s a rumor that Chimaev can’t travel, for passport reasons. Fight at Fight Island! Nobody wants rumors said about them, but this one won’t go away,” Chael Sonnen said.

Furthermore, according to the insights shared by Chael Sonnen, even Chimaev’s own team appears to be unwilling to quash the persistent rumor, indicating its potential validity.
