This Saturday, UFC 273 will take place in the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida, with a loaded bill. Gilbert Burns (20-4-0) and Khamzat Chimaev (10-0-0) will fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight division this weekend.
Everyone avoids Chimaev, and it’s easy to see why: he’s a heavy hitter, and they don’t want to be brought down. Of course, this is only beneficial to him, so Burns must reverse the script. Why not try to put Chimaev on his back foot? Burns is a superior fighter on his front foot, he hits hard himself, and he can scramble with anyone in the division.
I’d want to see Burns attempt to pick up the tempo and focus on the body. Chimaev is a massive Welterweight who has lost a lot of weight and is used to finishing opponents in less than five minutes.
What if Burns hits him in the chest, refuses a couple of takedowns, and causes him to scramble all over the mat? Everything is unknown, but the odds are stacked against Burns, and Chimaev is the overwhelming favorite to win. Most of all if Chimaev wins he gets a title opportunity But nothing can be said till the fight is over.

On Saturday 9 April, the early prelims will begin at 11.15pm BST (3.15pm PT, 5.15pm CT, 6.15pm ET), followed by the prelims at 1am BST (5pm PT, 7pm CT, 8pm ET) on Sunday 10 April. The main card begins at 3 a.m. BST (7pm PT, 9pm CT, 10pm ET).
The card will air live on BT Sport in the UK, with the broadcaster’s app and website also streaming the fights.
In India, SonyLiv will stream it live.
In the US, ESPN+ will stream the action live, as will the UFC’s Fight Pass.
