Since a fourth-round submission at UFC 279 last September, the Stockton native has been absent from the cage. This victory rendered Nate Diaz a free agent for the first time in over a decade. Following his triumph over Tony Ferguson, the former title challenger expressed his intention to venture into the realm of boxing.

Initially linked to Logan Paul, Nate Diaz’s attention has shifted to facing Jake Paul in a highly anticipated boxing match set to take place on DAZN and ESPN pay-per-view tomorrow night. This bout marks Diaz’s first step into the world of boxing, but it certainly won’t be his last. Interestingly, in a pre-fight interview with the Full Send Podcast, Diaz reaffirmed his commitment to return to the UFC after his clash with Jake Paul.

Nate Diaz to make his UFC comeback

Nate Diaz has previously dropped hints about a potential return to MMA after his one-off fight with Jake Paul. Nevertheless, ‘The Problem Child’ has persistently sought a rematch in the cage within the PFL. However, it seems that the likelihood of such a rematch is slim, as the Stockton legend now intends to make his way back to the UFC, where he has developed a renewed admiration for the promotion.

“Yeah, I’m going to do MMA,” Nate Diaz stated when asked about his plans after his fight with Jake Paul. “100%, I’ll box and do MMA, again a bunch of times. I think afterward, after every fight, it’s like, after my last fight with Ferguson, I got out. It was like a breath of fresh air.”

Nate Diaz realizes UFC’s worth

Nate Diaz expressed that his appreciation for the UFC has grown stronger since he left the organization. He now perceives things differently and notices aspects he had overlooked during his active career. He mentioned understanding why certain decisions are made, which he finds fascinating. After the upcoming fight, he looks forward to a new chapter and a fresh perspective.

“I have a newfound appreciation for the UFC compared to when I was actively competing in it. Now, I can see aspects I wouldn’t even notice before, and I understand their decisions better. It’s like, ‘Oh, that’s why they do that, makes sense now.’ So, once this fight is over, I’ll be ready for another breath of fresh air.”
