Mark Zuckerberg’s unwavering determination to step into the UFC ring is not directed towards a showdown with Elon Musk, as some might expect. Instead, he seems to be considering the possibility of a genuine bout against a professional UFC fighter. Dana White, the head of UFC, is subtly suggesting that this intriguing match might become a reality.

As you’re aware, Zuck has shifted his focus away from a potential confrontation with Elon. In a statement last Friday, he mentioned, ” … I’ll reveal the specifics about my upcoming battle when the time is right.” It’s clear that he has a strategic vision for his upcoming endeavor.

He said, “I want to do it in a way that puts a spotlight on the elite athletes at the top of their game,” adding, “You do that by working with professional orgs like the UFC or ONE to pull this off well.”

Zuck wants to fight people who are serious about the sport

Hence, the question arises: who exactly fall under the category of “elite athletes” and those who approach the sport with utmost dedication? It’s a stretch to imagine that there’s another figure akin to Elon Musk, a billionaire poised against another billionaire, waiting in the wings. Moreover, it’s rather implausible that Mark Zuckerberg would engage the UFC for a mere amateur contest against an unknown contender.

It’s been evident that Zuck has been in ongoing discussions with UFC President Dana White for a considerable period, likely extending well beyond a month. Dana, with a roster of around 500 fighters, seems to have a pool of enthusiastic contenders who would relish the spotlight that comes with squaring off against Mark Zuckerberg.

Is Zuck asking for a UFC veteran?

Certainly, it’s implausible for Zuck to go up against a seasoned UFC veteran. However, could the possibility be entertained of him facing off against a recently recruited fighter within the organization?

“I have said since day 1 Mark is a very serious guy. He loves the sport and is training hard. I believe he is serious about fighting in the UFC,” Dana White told TMZ.

Take note of Dana’s choice of words, specifically “fighting IN the UFC.” This phrasing strongly indicates the likelihood of Zuck engaging in combat with an individual from within the organization, rather than an external contender.
