Jake Paul’s boxing encounter with former UFC sensation Nate Diaz has undoubtedly achieved resounding triumph. Taking place on August 5, ‘The Problem Child’ secured his seventh career victory by securing a unanimous decision win over Diaz in a thrilling 10-round showdown held at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.

Just days following the event, preliminary reports have hinted that the fight garnered approximately 450,000 purchases in the United States, a figure that stands twice as much as Paul’s previous clash against British boxing talent Tommy Fury in February.

Jake Paul says the viewership was huge

In a recent installment of his “BS w/ Jake Paul” podcast, the prominent social media personality unveiled certain figures, asserting that the match had garnered over half a million purchases in the U.S. alone. Notably, this event also marked the highest-grossing gate for a fight within Paul’s relatively short yet thriving boxing journey.

Jake Paul shared that the pay-per-view numbers are shaping up to exceed 500,000, a substantial achievement. The event marked the biggest gate and pay-per-view sales in the U.S., which holds significance due to higher costs there. The statistics further underscored the event’s triumph, with Google searches skyrocketing and making it the most searched trend, surpassing the charts by a factor of 10. The event also stood out for the largest ticket sales and sponsorship deals.

“It’s looking like 500,000+ pay-per-views,” Paul revealed. “The biggest gate, and that’s U.S. pay-per-views. It means more because it costs more in the U.S. So a massive number, massive success. There’s a statistic that shows the Google searches from that night. We were the number one most searched Google trend by like 10x. Trended everywhere. Biggest gate. Biggest ticket sales. Biggest sponsorship.”

How much money did the fight generate?

Priced at $59.99 for the U.S. audience, the fight is estimated to have brought in around $30 million in revenue. This substantial sum doesn’t even factor in earnings from ticket sales and sponsorship agreements.

Given these impressive figures, it’s clear why Jake Paul is eager to secure a rematch with Nate Diaz in the realm of mixed martial arts. Having inked an agreement with the Professional Fighters League earlier this year, Paul aims to step into the MMA arena in 2024. While no opponent has been officially named, Diaz has been on Paul’s radar for a potential rematch within the PFL Smart Cage. The offer on the table is a substantial $10 million purse for the former Ultimate Fighter champion.
