Henry Cejudo names the fighter he wants next

In a recent interview with MMAJunkie on July 17, Henry Cejudo revealed the name of one opponent who has caught his attention.

“I want to wait for Merab [Dvalishvili], I think that Merab is my best option to get back to the title. Give it to me!”

“If you are a wrestler — like I know where the calves going to have to go — I know I’m I’m going to have to dedicate that time and It’s also going to push me. I’m here to win my title back. So I want Merab, even if it’s a five-rounder. …[If] I beat him, I know I’m ready for that five-round fight once again.”

This isn’t the initial instance where Cejudo has expressed his interest in facing Dvalishvili. Following his loss to Aljamain Sterling at UFC 288 on May 7, Cejudo used Instagram to call out the Georgian fighter for a potential bout.

Henry Cejudo questions Alexandre Pantoja’s champion status

Henry Cejudo has cast doubts on Alexandre Pantoja’s capability to hold onto the UFC flyweight title because of his fighting style. Pantoja recently clinched the 125-pound championship in a hard-fought five-round contest against Brandon Moreno at UFC 290.

While commending Pantoja for his heart and determination in the bout, Cejudo has raised concerns about the effectiveness and long-term viability of his strategy in the highly competitive flyweight division.

“What scares me with Pantoja a bit is his style of fighting,” Cejudo said on his YouTube channel. “Pantoja’s style of fighting, man, it’s – will a guy like that be able to last and be able to have six to seven to eight title defenses? Or is it short-lived? Can Pantoja become a little more technical defensively? Can he do a really good job of that?”
