The domination of Georges St-Pierre inside the UFC Octagon is unsurpassed among his welterweight contemporaries. During his long reign as 170-pound king, GSP has demolished challenger after challenger like a fine-tuned machine inside the cage. With precise, accurate stand-up and world-class grappling abilities, he gives his opponents an impossible challenge. GSP has a 23-2 lifetime record, yet it just reflects a portion of his domination. It’s a thing of beauty to watch GSP shred his opponents, and he’s put up some very stunning displays within the Octagon. So, let’s take a look back at GSP’s best UFC fights

UFC 217 – Michael Bisping

After being out of action for four years, St-Pierre chose to take the riskiest move of his career by jumping up 15 pounds in weight to fight then-middleweight champion Michael Bisping at UFC 217. It was a hazardous move that St-Pierre didn’t need to make; he already had his reputation intact, he was in a self-imposed retirement, and going up against a much bigger opponent was a reckless decision. Despite suffering from colitis at the time, St-Pierre managed to defeat Bisping by submission at UFC 217, becoming one of just a few competitors to win titles in two divisions. The battle ended up being St-Pierre’s final fight in his illustrious career.

UFC 65 – Matt Hughes 2

At UFC 65, Georges St-Pierre challenged Matt Hughes for the second bout for the welterweight championship. A few years previously, the two had battled at UFC 50, with the youthful St-Pierre being easily dispatched by the then-dominant Hughes. When they met at UFC 65, though, things were very different. In their rematch, St-Pierre dominated and finished Hughes, demonstrating that he had progressed since their first fight. He won the first UFC championship of his remarkable career by knocking him out in the second round.

UFC 94 – BJ Penn 2

When BJ Penn competed for St-welterweight Pierre’s belt at UFC 94 in an effort to become the first dual weight champion in UFC history, he was one of the best fighters on the globe. The first true champion-champ fight was highly anticipated; the two had previously battled at UFC 58, with St-Pierre winning a close and contentious split decision. St-Pierre, on the other hand, demonstrated that the distance between the two combatants had widened dramatically in the years since they had fought. St-Pierre thrashed Penn to a pulp, finishing him when the fight was stopped after the fourth round due to Penn’s injuries.
