Three years have passed since the launch of EA UFC 4, but fans of the series can anticipate the arrival of the next installment. The announcement of EA UFC 5 occurred during the International Fight Week in July, building anticipation for a comprehensive reveal scheduled for September.

EA has maintained a shroud of secrecy surrounding EA UFC 5, leaving dedicated players of the game eagerly anticipating the specifics of the forthcoming iteration within the series. Here’s what’s new coming to the game.

A fresh Ultimate Team for players

Although EA UFC 3 initially tried to integrate the highly successful Ultimate Team concept, it faced challenges and was eventually excluded from EA UFC 4.

The core essence of any sports collector mode, which revolves around the athletes, was not adequately emphasized in this mode. The intended synergy between the thrill of card collections and the allure of fantasy sports, expected in sports collector modes, was notably absent in EA UFC 3’s Ultimate Team.

Unlike the envisioned UFC collector mode featuring packs with both iconic UFC legends and contemporary stars, the implementation in the game’s version of Ultimate Team predominantly centered on personalizing current fighters.

Players should a realistic mode

Numerous fans yearn for a heightened level of realism in EA UFC gameplay. However, I’m of the opinion that this desire is often a surface-level preference, and if EA were to fully embrace and implement an ultra-realistic approach, it might not yield the same level of enjoyment as these users anticipate.

A new designation mode

Career modes have been a staple in the previous EA UFC games, and it’s a reasonable expectation that this trend will persist in EA UFC 5.

Interestingly, the series has yet to introduce a mode enabling users to take on the role of the President or matchmaker tasked with orchestrating successful events. Given Dana White’s prominence as the face of the promotion, it’s fitting for him to be the central figure in such a mode.

Empowering users to steer their customized version of the UFC would undoubtedly pique interest. Entrusting them with the responsibility of nurturing their promotion from a modest regional entity to a global powerhouse capable of packing colossal arenas would generate a compelling narrative, akin to the captivating story arcs driving the most engaging general manager and commissioner modes.
