Stefanos Tsitsipas is an interesting character in the world of tennis. He’s someone whose on-court brilliance is sometimes overshadowed by his ability to attract controversy.
When he won the 2019 ATP Finals he was the youngest winner of the prestigious tournament in eighteen years.
He also enjoys quite the reputation in his home nation. His ranking of No. 3 in the world makes him the highest-ranked Greek player in history.
Tsitsipas quickly established his credentials of being capable of defeating the best in the business; he did so with a runner-up finish in the 2018 edition of the Canadian Open.

He became the youngest player to defeat four top ten opponents in a single tournament during that stellar campaign. It was the first time he showcased his potential to the full extent.
Since then, Tsitsipas has won 7 singles career titles, with 2019 marking his most successful season ever.
He also made it to the finals of the French Open in 2021, where he lost to Novak Djokovic. As such, there is a lot of interest in his personal life.
Theodora Petalas is not a public figure as such, so there is little known about her. She got her four-year certification in history from NY University. Then, she got an experts’ certification in a project for the executives and innovation from a similar college.
She went to Queen’s Gate School for her A-Levels, where she concentrated on Economics, Geography, History, French, and German.
She currently lives in London, meaning the couple are essentially in a long-distance due to Tsitsipas’ constant travel.
Tsitsipas once narrated in detail the story of how the two of them met. By his own account, he was shy approaching her at first but eventually asked her out.
“We have known each other for three years, through family friends. We first met in New York and I liked her very much, but I was shy then and did not express my feelings,” Tsitsipas had said in one of his social media interactions.

“But two years ago, again in New York, I asked her out on a date. I asked her to go to Brooklyn to snap some photos and I think she liked that. I did take some photos, which to this day are my favourites.”
As mentioned earlier, Petalas lives in London but, in that same interaction, Tsitsipas pointed out that she does travel with him sometimes.
“It’s a little difficult for us, because she lives in London. But thankfully it hasn’t brought us to extremes!
“She comes to some tournaments to support me and so we can spend some time together. She is my best friend! We talk every day, for two or three years now.
“I don’t think a day has gone by that we haven’t spoken, and our chemistry is very good. She also plays tennis, and when I play with her, it is my favourite moment on the court! It brings a huge smile to my face.”
