Tennis player Pedro Cachin was born in Bell Ville, Argentina, on April 12, 1995. Cachin reached his highest ATP singles ranking of No. 54 on November 14, 2022. On May 9, 2022, he got an ATP doubles rating of 219, which is a career high. Cachin reached a career-high Junior ranking of No. 8 on December 9, 2013. Cachin won the 2021 Open de Oeiras II after defeating Nuno Borges in the final to claim his second Challenger title. He entered the top 250 on November 29, 2021, at position 239 globally. He advanced to the second round of the Australian Open qualification in January 2022.

At the 2022 Andaluca Challenger in Marbella later that March, Cachn defeated World No. 50 Dominic Thiem and former World No. 3 and 2020 US Open champion Dominic Thiem en route to the final, when he fell short to Jaume Munar.

As a lucky loser, he earned a spot in the main draw of a Grand Slam singles tournament at the 2022 French Open. In his debut game at a Grand Slam, he defeated Norbert Gombos, a fellow qualifier. He consequently debuted in the rankings’ top 150. After winning his fifth Challenger title in Todi on July 11, 2022, at World No. 98, he entered the top 100 for the first time. After winning his sixth Challenger title in the Dominican Republic on August 22, 2022, he rose to No. 66.

Cachin became the first person to win at the US Open under the new tiebreak rule when he beat Alja Bedene in five sets in the main event after entering the tournament as a direct entry. The fifth set featured a super 10-point tiebreak. He then advanced to the third round for the first time at this Major and in his career by defeating wildcard Brandon Holt again in five sets with a super tiebreak after falling behind by two sets. He then moved up to position 60 in the rankings.

Alex Corretja is a former professional tennis player from Spain. During his career, he finished second in the French Open twice (in 1998 and 2001), won the Tour Finals in 1998, reached a career-high singles ranking of world No. 2 in 1999, and won Masters titles at the 1997 Italian Open and the 2000 Indian Wells Masters. Corretja was also instrumental in Spain winning its first Davis Cup title in 2000. After retiring, Corretja became Andy Murray’s temporary coach for the clay-court season in April 2008, returning to the role permanently between 2009 and 2011. Corretja coached the Spanish Davis Cup team from 2012 to 2013.
