Pavel Kotov is a professional tennis player from Russia. Kotov reached his highest ATP singles ranking of World No. 96 on October 17, 2022. Additionally, on November 8, 2021, he achieved a career-high doubles ranking of No. 226 in the world. He qualified for the 2020 St. Petersburg Open and played in his first ATP match, losing to Ugo Humbert.At the 2020 Challenger La Manche and the 2021 Città di Forl III, respectively, Kotov won his first ATP Challenger doubles title. As a qualifier at the 2022 Grand Prix Hassan II, he defeated ninth seed Tallon Griekspoor to win his first ATP match.

As a qualifier, he made his US Open debut in 2022. Due to Jannik Sinner’s unexpected withdrawal from the ATP 500 2022 Astana Open, he earned a spot in the main draw as the lucky loser. For his first victory at this level, he defeated Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the opening round. On October 10, 2022, he rose to position 100 in the rankings as a result. At the Australian Open in 2023, he made his debut as a lucky loser. In addition, he defeated Alexei Popyrin to qualify for the ATP 500 in Dubai. He qualified for the 2023 Miami Open, where he made his Masters 1000 debut. He defeated Pedro Martinez, the seventh seed, to advance to his first ATP semifinal at the 2023 Grand Prix Hassan II.
